Look at the Ingredients
Tertiary butylhydroquinone or TBHQ is an antioxidant that prevents food products from turning bad when it is a processed food product. TBHQ is very similar to butane lighter fluid and is a petroleum by-product. Not only is TBHQ found in processed food it is also sprayed inside of fast food containers. Why is is used? It's cheap and if a manufacturer can find something cheap to prevent their processed food from spoiling they are going to use it.
TBHQ has been linked to ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), enlarged livers and tumor growth.
Butylated Hydroxytoluene commonly used with the above TBHQ, BHT is another product that prevents processed foods from spoiling. This substance is a derivative of phenol (carbolic acid). BHT is put in everything from processed food products, resins and explosives.
This poison has also been linked to mental health issues especially in children such as ADD, ADHD and Autism.
Dextrose is another name for Glucose (sugar) and is basically the same thing as High Fructose Corn Syrup. If you look at the ingredients in the photograph you will notice that Sugar is also added to this product. So, basically you are getting double the sugars just to preserve the food. Remember, that High Fructose Corn Syrup is supposed to no longer be used in foods? Well, guess what. The name has been changed to dextrose.
Anything that is pre-packaged and processed is not good for you, just read the labels. The continuous use of the above products in everything you eat will eventually make you sick.
The best bet if you like sausage is to never purchase it as a processed pre-packaged food. Ask your local butcher for some homemade sausage for a safe bet you are getting something that is all natural. Local butchers can make sausage links if you would rather have links instead of patties.
You might even ask the manager of the meat counter in your local grocery store if they would make their own sausage. Hey, asking never hurts and eating right is making sure you and your family are eating safe foods.
The above preservatives are banned in many countries to include Japan and China.
Remember, if you have Diabetes it is best not to eat processed foods because you will never be able to regulate your body sugar naturally.
